Adwords Disabling Advert Optimisation
By: Tom OBrien

Disable the automatic advert optimisation feature (set in your campaign settings) to avoid giving away valuable IP to your competitors.

This can be seen here: http://www.pdqprospects.com/images/CampaignOptimisation.gif

Why would you want to do this?

Ok - Let's say you are diligently testing 2 adverts side by side within an ad-group (as you should always be btw).

With optimisation turned on, eventually 1 advert will be deemed the leader and shown more.

For arguments sake ? we will take the keyword ?marketing?. Your competitor has 2 split tested Google Adwords adverts which will show (in a round robin manner) whenever this keyword is searched for.

You can find out useful information regarding which of the adverts is performing better by searching for the keyword marketing, noting the ad results and refreshing the search results.

Because you get to know the best copy

Suppose you do this 4 times (by reloading your webpage) - and 3 times advert 1 is shown, but advert 2 is shown once - you now know which of these adverts is the best.

Knowing what adverts are working for your competitors allows you to start to understand the mindset of your potential prospects (what's working and what's not to encourage click-throughs).

This of course is very valuable intelligence to have for you to construct your own adverts - which means you can ultimately have higher click through rates and as a direct result pay less.

Because ads in Adwords are in the public domain, your marketing efforts can be gleaned by your competitors and vice versa if you use the automatic optimisation feature.

You have the choice to set and forget letting Adwords do it's job but if you want total control and are in a market that is highly competitive, you may want to manage your campaigns in a more hands-on fashion.

There is a trade-off for sure but it's up to you as a business owner to make that decision based on your own risk management criteria.

In marketing there is only one genius - your customer.

You can always hire someone to create great ads but you have no guarantees they will produce a winner straight off the bat.

Only putting the ad into the wild will you determine results.

Sidebar

You may peak in terms of achieving as high a CTR as you can for a particular advert and this could mean you get lazy and only show the winner all the time. To help keep your competitors guessing you should continually try new ads intermittently though.

Indeed therein lies some very valuable self help tips when it comes to keeping the competitors guessing:

Believe it or not you may want to put a 'worse' advert up to reduce your CTR thus dropping you down the adwords advert list to help improve your ROI!

Recommendation

You are best using ad optimisation for most of your terms - set it, forget it. Some may need to be broken out into their own campaigns to give you the granularity you require. It?s a question of finding out which keywords warrant the extra effort.

What You Need To Know About Googles new AdWords Affiliate Policy
By: Rolf Arne Trondhjem

A lot of affiliates are selling other people's products with AdWords. This has been known as easy money, since no website is required. All you need is a ClickBank ID and you have over 10.000 products to offer your visitors.

When Google changed the affiliate policy in January, many affiliates saw their future AdWords income vanish up in smoke. Simply because they didn't know how to build a web page, or a Landing page.

Webmasters and others with HTML skills said this was a great thing, because now they "got rid of" a lot of competition.

And this is correct.

Since Google now accept only one ad from a top domain, you really have only 2 options:
Start creating your own landing pages
Hope your ads have the best CTR, so Google choose your ad instead of all the others selling the same product.

What about those landing pages?

Tests I have been doing shows that in some cases only 50% of the visitors click on to the sales page. This actually means that you have to send twice as much visitors as before to make the same amount of sales!

What should a good landing page look like?

At least it has to list all the benefits for the product you are promoting. You should consider collecting the email-address from the visitor before he or she moves on. In that case you can send them follow-up emails.

But, the most effective technique I have found is to offer your visitors a bonus if they buy the product through your link. Simply tell them to send you an email after they have made the purchase and that you will send them the download-link as soon as you have confirmed the purchase.

For best results, your bonus should be something related to your product.

Since you probably are not able to have a 100% CTR from your Landing page to your sales page, here are a couple of things you should consider:
Don't sell products that pay less than $20 commission.
Turn off "Content Network" in your campaign settings.

When you have to send more visitors to your landing page, you cannot afford to buy low-targeted traffic.

Happy AdWording!

Broad Phrase Exact Negative Four Google AdWords terms you must know for advertising success
By: Rob Barrett

A few days ago, I was setting up my latest Google AdWords campaign. My brother was watching me work through the process, and he asked me:

"Why do you put quotation marks and square brackets around some keywords?"

I was a bit surprised to realise that I couldn't actually answer him - not in any definite way, at least. So, I set to work finding out what the matching options mean, and how they affect results.

First up is the default, Broad Match. This is where a keyword phrase is written as is, for example: google adwords

This method means that your Ad will potentially be shown to anyone searching for 'google' and 'adwords', in any order and possibly with other terms. So, anyone searching for 'adwords google help' could see your Ad.

Next is Phrase Match. This is where a keyword phrase is enclosed by quotation marks, for example: "google adwords"

This is essentially the next step up from Broad Match - your Ad could be shown to anyone searching for 'google' and 'adwords', but only in that order, and possibly with other terms included in the search. So, 'how to start a google adwords campaign' could trigger your Ad to be shown.

The last in the 'positive' matching options is Exact Match. This is where your keyword phrase is enclosed by square brackets, for example: [google adwords]

This is the most specific of the three types. In this case, your advert will only be shown if somebody searches for 'google adwords' in that order and with no other terms.

These options each have their own merits, but generally, the more specific the search term, the higher your CTR (Click Through Rate).

If you have a small niche to start with, then Broad Match will give you the most exposure. The downside is that the large number of triggering phrases could push your CPC (cost per click) up, as a result of competition.

Larger markets require highly-targeted Ads, and this is where Exact Match (and Phrase Match, to an extent) comes into play. Imagine trying to get clicks from keywords such as 'car parts' compared to 'ford fiesta rear wheel bearing'. Obviously, the more specific your keyword terms, the more likely you are to get an interested visitor to your site.

The last of the keyword matching options is Negative Keyword. This is where a keyword is precluded by a minus sign, for example: -tricks

This stops your Ad from being shown if somebody searches using that term. For example, 'google adwords tricks' would stop your Ad from being shown.

This is useful for prequalifying prospect clients - if you are trying to sell something, then '-free' would be a good term to include in your Keyword list.

Of course, as with any marketing campaign, which of these methods will work best for you is unpredictable, so always remember to test, test test!

If you need more help with setting up your Google AdWords campaign, this particular resource is one that I found useful when starting up:

Promote Affiliate Programs Through Your Own Google Adwords Campaign
By: Maxine Hough

Did you know that Forbes magazine has reported that pay per click ad sales are expected to increase to at least an astounding $8 billion by the year 2008? Pay per click though still unfamiliar to many, will be around for a very long time. One of the search engine giants to capture a lion's share of this market is Google through its Google Adwords service. A few ebooks like Google Cash and The Definitive Guide To Google AdWords provide basic and advance knowledge on releasing the incredible power of pay per click campaigns especially as this applies to businesses and affiliates around the world. Big businesses are still the largest group to benefit from incorporating pay per click in their advertising budgets but, home-based businesses and affiliate program promoters can benefit too if they understand how to use this tool.

Pay per click search engines provide a way for you to basically buy your way to the top of search results for any keyword you wish. Pay per click advertising works thru a bidding process, and your ads appear in the results pages of search engines such as Google, Yahoo, Ask Jeeves. With Google Adwords you bid on the keywords you want to focus your ad on. For example if someone were searching on "gourmet coffee", if you're the highest bidder for "gourmet coffee" you receive top placement for that phrase and depending on the search engine, the top 3-5 bidders for that phrase also receive placement on the first page of unpaid search results.

With Google Adwords the "ad campaign" is everything. When you sign up with Google Adwords you have unlimited campaigns at your disposal. I enjoy promoting affiliate programs and in the past I spent a lot of time deciding which keywords I would bid on to attract buyers to my affiliate programs. The only tool I use right now is Ad Word Analyzer which saves tremendously on time and gives me an overview of my keyword and/or keyword phrase as it was searched on the top two pay per click search engines Google and Overture ( now called Yahoo Search Marketing ).

Now that you've done your research and you've collected your keywords and/or keyword phrases, you'll need to open an Adwords account.

1. To do this go to https://adwords.google.com/ . There is a one time sign up fee of $5 and your username and password are emailed to you.

2. Now you can log into the system and select "create a new campaign". Give your campaign a name that will also allow you to create multiple campaigns.

3. Before creating your first ad, I recommend that you print out Google's set of guidelines, ebooks such as Google Cash cover this area as well. Since most of you are probably promoting affiliate programs, it's important that you notify Google of this by simply adding "aff" at the end of your ad text.

A few tips to keep in mind:

a. To keep your ad targeted, make sure your keyword or keyword phrase is in the headline.

b. Put your keyword or keyword phrase in the text of your ad.

c. In promoting your affiliate program, make sure you're linked directly to the owner's website thru your affiliate link so that you'll get the credit and the cash!

Now you can submit your ad and start tracking your campaign over the next few days. If you're not happy with your ad's performance you can make changes such as targeting other keywords or increasing your bid a little at a time. Adwords is flexible in allowing you to make changes within Google guidelines of course, to make your ad campaigns successful.

Pay per click is here to stay and it offers a high level of assurance that your ad is reaching your targeted audience. With the proper management and a clear vision, pay per click specifically Google Adwords, can provide you with well targeted and economical advertising on the internet.

As mentioned earlier pay per click ad sales are expected to increase to at least $8 billion by 2008, with Google Adwords, the right resources and a little effort on your part, you can also benefit from this increase and find yourself with a significant supplemental income each month or a fulltime "leave my 9-5 job" income. The sky is truly the limit with pay per click.

Lower Cost Increase Conversion of Your AdWords Ads
By: Karon Thackston

Comparison shoppers are the mortal enemy of pay-per-click (PPC) advertisers. When you're paying each time someone clicks your AdWords (or other PPC) ad, the last thing you want is a person determined to visit every site to find the best price, the closest location or the most secure guarantee. But, with many categories of products or services, it's bound to happen. There is a way to eliminate many of the lookers, however.

When you qualify your AdWords leads, you can reduce the click-through rate (CTR) of browsers and help direct only those most interested in your offer to your site. How is it done? By inserting text that will purposely eliminate arbitrary visitors.

Qualifying Your PPC Leads

Purposely eliminating visitors sounds like an awful thing to do, doesn't it? Perhaps, until you consider the fact that - once these visitors got to your site and found out the details of your offer - they'd most likely leave anyway.

Why not save yourself a click (and the money associated with that click!) and prevent the visitor from running up your monthly AdWords bill? This is exactly what Steve Jackson of Conversion Chronicles and I discussed awhile back. Since that discussion, I've come up with a process that will allow you to easily write pre-qualifying ads when you use these simple steps.

Step One

Outline the specifications of your offer. Be precise. List all the details of the offer, the price, length of time, physical location, size, etc. For example, say you have luxury cruise packages available. You'd want to list the details such as: packages depart from New York City and go to several destinations in Mexico including Cozumel, Puerto Vallarta and Mazatl?n from December 5-15 for a cost of $2500 per person.

Step Two

Go back and highlight anything that would be a deal breaker. This is a luxury cruise, so the cost of $2500 per person might be too much for most people. Quite often, cruisers are looking for the best deal possible.

Also, the cruise only leaves from New York City. The additional airfare cost might not be something your site visitors want to add to the cost of their trip. Or, it may be inconvenient to depart from New York City.

What about the dates? These cruises are only available on the dates of December 5-15. Your site visitors may not be able to take a holiday during that time.

Does the visitor want to sail to the locations on the itinerary? Maybe they've already been to Cozumel, Puerto Vallarta and Mazatl?n and are looking for a cruise to Cabo San Lucas.

Are there other factors that might force shoppers to decline the offer and move to another site? If so, list them here.

Step Three

Now, decide which bits of information you want to include in your AdWords ads. You'll want to test and track to see which combination of details bring the lowest click-through rates along with the highest conversions. For example, your ad might read:

Luxury Mexico Cruise 12/5
Tour tropical Cozumel, Puerto
Vallarta & more. Leave NYC. $2500pp
www.whatever.com

That would give a lot of information that would keep unqualified visitors from clicking through to your site (and running up your AdWords bill). At the same time, the use of words like "luxury" and "tropical" help the searcher visualize their wonderful vacation.

Another example could be a special shipment of microwave ovens. Let's go through the steps once again.

Step One

The specifications include: convection/microwave combination, built-in with light and vent features, 1200 watts, white, $900, available on the Internet only.

Step Two

Any of these could be used to weed out visitors. Someone may not want the convection feature. They want a countertop microwave rather than a built-in model. Twelve-hundred watts may be more powerful (and larger) than the visitor needs. Their kitchen may have stainless steel or black appliances, not white. Lastly, $900 could be more than they have budgeted for a microwave.

Step Three

Again, you'll want to test and track to see which tidbits of information work best to bring qualified leads, reduce CTR and costs, and improve conversions.

Your ad might look like this:

Powerful Convec/Microwave
Special purchase. Attractive range
built-in with 1200w. Only $900.
www.whatever.com

Rather than using generic terms to describe high cost or frequently compared PPC items, get as specific as you can with "disqualifying" copy. By weeding out those who would likely take one look and leave, you can save yourself a lot of money in AdWords expenses while increasing conversions.

Get Googled with Adwords to Boost Website Visits
By: Anton Cheranev

The Google Adwords program is a very popular new program. Mainly people who have products to sell on the Internet use it. If you want to sell products, it might be a good idea to check into the Google Adwords program to give you web site more exposure. Besides, it is not hard to learn and it can mean big profits for your business too.

The Google Adwords program is a PPC, a pay per click program. It combines the use of an ad with text as advertisement for a product. You can write your own ad or have Google write it for you. Many people prefer to write their own ad. The ads consist of top keywords that are important to a website. More than likely you have seen the ads and not even realized what they were. They are usually vertical ads on the right hand of a computer screen you will see after you have done a search for something on the Internet, although occasionally the ads are horizontal.

It does cost to place an ad with Google Adwords. This cost depends on what you are willing to pay for a CPC, a cost per click. If you have done a good keyword search before you write your ad then it is possible to use those keywords that will help your site and the ad will cost you less. Overall, it will cost you less because you have targeted your keywords to create an ad that draws in customers that will buy your products. Remember the less you are willing to pay for good keywords, the lower your ads will appear on the computer screen.

You need to consider that you will be in competition with other websites that use PPC and there might be times that you will have to adjust what you pay for your ad. Finding relative keywords does take some work on your part. So, others that have found the relative keywords first, in order to bump out competition, are willing to pay a higher click through premium. Be sure you know what you are willing to pay for this ad text service from Google Adwords before you get started.

Once you are at the level set by Google to stay in the rankings of valid PPC sites, you will need to maintain your listing. You cannot just create them, then forget about them and move on. You?re ranking will fall because of tight competition for keywords and therefore ad placement. The ranking in a Google Adwords program is based on how many times a person clicks on your ad. The CTR, click through rate, is the life or death of your ad on Google Adwords. What else can you do to remain in the top rankings besides having good relevant keywords? The use of solid attention grabbing copy is another key to keeping your site prominent in a Google Adwords ranking.

The Internet has changed dramatically in the last two years. For example, the domain names that were consider once high ranking and were very easy to get are rare to find today. So an acceptance of longer domain name extensions was created because of competition between websites. Banner ads became very popular and for a while, people were able to make money with them on the Internet. Banner ads are still used but more so as a linking tool to several different sites of an owner. This is done in the hopes to make more money covering many unique sites. There were a billion sites but trying to find customers is getting much harder to do.

That is why the Goggle Adwords program was developed. Mass keyword targeting was the first step in trying to find a way to find an audience, but that proved too inefficient. There were just too many words on the Internet! Now, Google has created a marketing concept of site targeting for consumer searchers. This makes it a real benefit for you as a searcher or an advertiser. Information is much easier to find and because of targeted keyword use, it is what you need to find. As an advertiser you can target specific sties that you want to advertise on.

Google Keywords does have its detractors. So if you are not sure if you want to use it, take it for a test run first. Go online and find out first everything you can about it. Use the extensive learning center at Google Adwords. Talk with others that use it to see what they thought about it. Read about some of the problems that others have faced and overcome with Google Adwords. It might be the key to your success online.

AdWords Campaign Set Up Advanced Tips
By: Chris Burgess

Make Your Ads Different

Your completed AdWords ads are going to run right along side everyone else's. You need to use words that will make yours stand out. Again, here is where you need to look at your competitors ads to see what they are saying. Once you've done that, you need to figure out how to make yours stand out.

Don't use the same terms at beginning of titles and sentences. Think of synonyms for more commonly used words. Think of different ways to say things.

Whatever you do, make your ad different. If it stands out, for the right reasons, you will get more clicks.

Run Several Different Ads at Once For Each Ad Group

AdWords allows you to run as many ads as you would like for each " Ad Group" (keyword group). Take advantage of this feature. Don't limit yourself to only one ad. Run two or three different ads for each Ad Group.

Experiment with different wording in titles, different text in the ads themselves and different "Destination URLs" to see which ads get the highest clickthrough percentages and which have the highest conversion rate.

Keep the ads that make you the most money and delete the other ones. You can then try other variations of the ad that converted well to make it even better. Always run more than one ad, even if the "different" ads are very similar.

Even a change to one word can increase your conversion percentages dramatically at times.

Consider Using Different "Destination URLs" for Your Ads

Your website's main page may not be the page that best "converts" viewers into customers. If you're trying to sell one specific product with an ad, don't send people clicking on your ad to your website's main page. Send them directly to the webpage for that product.

You might also consider designing specific "splash" pages for each Ad Group you run. Each of those splash pages can then use the terms you're including in that Ad Group. If your customers see the same terms on your web site that made them click on the ad in the first place, they'll be more likely to buy your product.

Affiliate Marketers Will Never Make a Dime Using Google Adwords
By: Kevin Emswiler

Most people start off their affiliate marketing business by getting traffic from google adwords. I know, because that?s how I started. If your anything like me, you purchased Google Cash or another pay per click ebook and you set up your first campaign. Latter on after many campaigns you found out that it was a lot harder than you originally thought.

Here?s why! Pay per click advertising works well for businesses that can count on repeat business. As an affiliate you usually don?t have that luxury. Your relying on one purchase per customer and then you?ll probably never see that customer again. A good E-business on the other hand knows that with every person that becomes a customer they can rely on x number of purchases from that customer. This also allows them to bid significantly higher than affiliates because they can make their profits from the back-end.. A business that can rely on a minimum of four purchases per customer for example, can burn up their profits on the first and second purchases and still make profits on the third and fourth purchase.

The last reason affiliates have a hard time is because conversion rates for a typical pay per click campaign average less than 1%. Its hard to make a profit with that kind of conversion rate. I?m not saying its impossible, but affiliate marketers utilizing pay per click advertising for their traffic are definitely fighting an uphill battle.

There are various ways to purchase highly targeted advertising at very low prices. Google AdWords is one simple and quick way to to do this. Regardless of your budget, you can actually get your text ads appearing on search result pages within minutes! You can also target your ad to a specific language or country.

Pricing is based on the position in which your ad is shown but there is no minimum amount required in order to open an account. Google positions your ad based on how many users click on it over time. Current rates range from $15-$10 (per thousand ads shown) for positions 1-3, and $8 per thousand for positions 4-8.

According to Google, Adwords text ads have an average click through rate 4-5 times higher than banner ads. I have generated click through rates as high as 36% by using the guidelines outlined below. I frequently test ads for as little as $1!

I've been using Google Adwords since it was first introduced and I've found it to be very effective for testing ads. My best click through rate so far has been 36% and the lowest being 0.98%! On average my ads get a 20% click through rate on very focused keywords and search terms and 6% on general popular relevant keywords. Here is what I do.

When promoting my products I choose keywords/search terms that are very specific to generate highly qualified prospects. I get very few searches, but a very high click through rate. I then keep the ad running for a very long time.

Example:

Instead of using keyword 'printer' for an ad about printers, I use the exact model of the printer e.g. 'Lexmark Z11' or less focused 'Lexmark printer'. I also put the search term in the title section. This simple trick produces very high click through rates.

Here are some guidelines:

1. Avoid keywords that are too general. Because ads are paid for on a CPM basis, you are likely to spend money quickly with keywords that are too vague. Avoid general keywords like 'business' or 'free'. Taylor each keyword to your offer and use relevant terms/words in both the title and the ad body.

2. Give Google users a compelling reason to click on your ad link. The easiest way to do this is to provide something of value for free.

3. Use a different ad for each keyword or search term. This increases relevance and the likelihood that Google users will click on it.

4. Test and monitor your ads. Refine and fine-tune your ad to maximise click throughs. With Google you can do this in real time!

Google's Adwords has become very popular and Google have had to increase the number of ad displays per keyword search from 3 to 8. You can open an account and test this service by going to:

Looking for Help Writing Google Adwords
By: Scott Foreman

With the holidays in ?full swing,? shopping is frenzied and buying is at the high point for the year. With even the most rudimentary business knowledge, you know that fourth quarter of the year is always the strong quarter for retailers. People are buying like crazy and each year, the economy picks up a little more steam and people have a little more disposable income.

As Pay Per Click (PPC) advertisers, we know that we must take advantage of this season. This can be a gold mine of opportunity. Whatever product you may be promoting, people are generally more likely to buy. There are exceptions, of course, but we need to be taking advantage of shoppers? willingness to purchase items they may not normally purchase.

When writing advertisements for PPC services, there is one technique that tends to get attention. After all, attention is really what we?re after. It?s the merchants? job to write effective sales copy. It?s the merchants? job to sell the product. With PPC advertising, our only job is to get the click. That?s it.

So what?s the technique for getting people?s attention? You?ve already seen and fallen ?victim? to it. Ask questions. You may be reading this because you recognize my name and like my past articles, but more than likely, you were caught by the title. When writing short ads whose sole intent is to get clicks, ask questions that searchers want answered.

If a searcher goes to a search engine and types in ?shoes,? what ad title would get more attention: ?Shoes? or ?Looking for Shoes?? Both titles have the requisite keyword there, but one states a fact (rather blandly) and the other answers a question. When it all comes down to it, isn?t that what many searchers want, questions answered? How about this example: ?Tie a Bowtie? or ?How Do I Tie A Bowtie?? I think you can see the question seems to address the searcher?s concern more thoroughly than the statement.

The next PPC campaign you start, try asking a question in your ad title. If you can also make sure that the product answers that question, you?ve got a powerful combination of eye-catching ad and problem solving product.

Remember, be good to yourself and never underestimate the power associated with the intensity of your passion.

Wishing you Success,

Google AdWords 5 Killer Steps to Profit from Instantly
By: Anton Linner

If you have never really considered running your own home business before, you should. There is no better way to make a living than working for one's own account. You set your own hours.

You work whenever you want. You can travel and vacation whenever you want.

Therefore, here are five killer steps to profit from Google AdWords that you will not find in any e-book, and that any AdWords expert will reveal to you. Apply these to your online business and succeed fast:

1. Target profitable two tiers or residual income niche markets.

2. Use right tools for your Google AdWords keyword research.

3. Purchase a domain name and create a landing page for each niche product that you promote with AdWords.

4. Capture email addresses of your landing page visitors.

5. Follow up with your subscribers and profit by pre-selling your niche products. Plus, back end sell.

PROMOTE PROFITABLE NICHE TWO TIER OR
RESIDUAL INCOME PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

First, the products, or services that you promote with Google AdWords must target niches where people have lots of money to spend.

Second, you can make much more money if you advertise two tier or residual income products.

Two-tier programs reward you for signing up affiliates. This way you earn commissions not only on your own sales, you earn commissions on their sales too.

A good example of residual income services are web hosting affiliate programs where you can profit from your sales lifelong!

USE RIGHT TOOLS FOR YOUR GOOGLE ADWORDS
KEYWORDS RESEARCH

First, did you know that you could spy on your competitors' keywords by using an amazing tool called GoogSpy?

http://www.googspy.com/

Just enter a domain name of your direct competitor and see on which keywords they are bidding. Just this little known secret could make your AdWords profits soar.

Moreover, the best: It is FREE!

Second, since the competition in the pay per click marketing is fierce never use only free keyword research tools like Overture's Keyword Selector Tool.

You will miss many profitable keywords if you do so. To succeed one of the best tools that work is Click Ad Equalizer.

This software literally shows you exactly what affiliate programs you should sign up and exactly with which keywords to sell!

Click Ad Equalizer does all of the work for you by finding the most profitable keywords and products in minutes and delivers the cost per click on cheaper search engines!

PURCHASE A DOMAIN NAME AND CREATE A
LANDING PAGE

If you don't have your own web site for each niche product or service that you advertise via ppc search engines, you are leaving money on the table. Read on to discover why...

CAPTURE EMAIL ADDRESSES OF YOUR
LANDING PAGE VISITORS

Yes, you can promote affiliate links directly with Google AdWords. However, this way you will lose many prospects that you could contact later and making money.

Imagine...

When you promote an affiliate link, you drive traffic directly to the affiliate's web site. If a visitor doesn't purchase the product immediately, chances are he or she will never purchase it again. Of course, the best affiliate programs place a cookie on their prospects' browsers. In this case, you still are paid if your prospect returns to your affiliate's site. That is why it is important to select the best affiliate program from the beginning.

If you can achieve 1% visitor to sales conversion ratio, (it means 1 sale from 100 visitors) with Google AdWords - you have a winner product!

Now, if you have a simple subscription form on your landing page and you have a great web copy encouraging your visitors to subscribe to your newsletter or an e-mail course, you will enjoy not 1% but 20 - 30% visitor to subscriber conversion ratio when driving targeted traffic to your web site with Google AdWords. Therefore, when you capture email addresses, you build a list. Moreover, as you know ? the money is in the list!

FOLLOW UP WITH YOUR SUBSCRIBERS AND

PRE-SELL YOUR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

This step is where the real profit is made. Simply, create quality targeted content in your newsletter or course, and later follow up with your prospects using autoresponders.

It is said that the products and services are sold after 7 - 9 follow up messages. Besides, you can contact your subscribers anytime later as new quality products hit your targeted niche market.

Therefore, you need a simple action plan that should help you boost your Google AdWords profits. As you can see, without a web site you cannot profit as much as you could by creating a simple one-page web site.

Google Adwords 8211 Online Riches Without Owning A Website Or Product
By: Ian McIntosh

Did you know that you can make money from Google Adwords without having a product to sell, or even a website?

It’s true and there are many people all around the world quietly making lots of money doing it.

So how do you do it?

Quite simple really, you become an affiliate.

An affiliate is somebody who sells other people’s products for a share of the profits. There are loads of companies on line who are eager for you to become their affiliate, and will pay you very well for generating sales for them.

Did you know for example that mortgage companies and other financial institutions will pay up to $50 per referral? Normally your prospect doesn’t even have to take the mortgage in order for you to pick up the money, you get it for them just filling in the form.

Satellite TV companies are another example of big payers, and there a lot of “high ticket” software products that can earn you $100+ commissions. There are loads of other companies in all walks of life that want you as an affiliate, do a search on Google for affiliate – you’ll be amazed at what you’ll find!

Sign up with an affiliate program that interests you and that you would be happy and enthusiastic about promoting. If you don’t feel anything positive towards what you are trying to promote you will be less likely to commit your energy towards it.

When you do sign up for your affiliate program, you will be allocated an affiliate “link”, a short piece of text with the company’s website and your unique ID in it. Always be sure to use this link in any promotions you do, or you won’t get paid!

So how do you get these commissions from your affiliate program? Google Adwords!

If you’ve been living on Mars for the last couple of years, Adwords are the little boxes on the right hand side of the search results page which show up when you do a search on Google and other search engines.

They are paid sponsor’s advertisements and your goal is obviously to get as near to the top of the search results page as possible, so that as many people as possible will see your ad.

Now to sell the product that you’ve become an affiliate for, you simply write a short advertisement with a catchy title and two lines of text and refer the prospect to the sales website. This does not need to be a website that you own, remember when you signed up as an affiliate you already created an affiliate link to the site with your unique ID in it, so that the commission from any sale made goes to you.

There have been millions of words written about what makes good advertising copy, take a bit of time to read some of them. You’ll find many great articles and ebooks you can get for free, study them!

Google has a set of standard guidelines as to what they deem acceptable when it comes to writing your ad. You need to read these and stick to them.

The next job is to decide what people searching the internet for your product might type in as a search, for example if you decide to sell mortgages you might use “cheap mortgages” or “best mortgage deals”.

These phases are known as keywords, and you bid for the keywords on Google. Your bid is the amount of money you are prepared to pay for each click on your advert, and bidding starts at %ARTICLEBODY%.05. So if you get a keyword for %ARTICLEBODY%.05 and you get 100 clicks on your sales page, it costs you 100 x %ARTICLEBODY%.05 ie $5.00.

Now let’s have a look at your potential profits. A good sales page might get a return of 2% - 3%, ie out of every hundred clicks 2 – 3 will be converted into sales or sign-ups. So if you are promoting mortgages, out of the hundred clicks for your $5.00 outlay you could expect two or three sales, ie a return of $100 - $150.

Realistically though you would be doing very well to pay as little as %ARTICLEBODY%.05 per click for a market as crowded as mortgages, you would most likely have to bid up considerably higher. But even at %ARTICLEBODY%.50 per click, you would only be paying $50 for your return of $100 - $150 in the example above, still a very healthy profit margin.

Obviously the more popular the keyword or phrase the higher your bid will need to be to secure it, so you will find that phrases like “cheap mortgages” or “best mortgage deals” will be very expensive but will attract a lot of traffic.

Top 7 Ways to Make Sure Google Adwords is Making You Money
By: Ron Isaiah

Most people don?t realize that the more money you spend for Google Adwords traffic in comparison to the Google AdWords ads in the positions below and above your ad, the less amount of traffic that will come to you.

If you?re looking at it by percentages, ask yourself: If your sales could go up 20%, would that be good if (all things being equal) your cost per click expense goes up by 30%? If this has in fact happened to you, congratulations! You have fallen into the Google Adwords CPC spiral. You have allowed the Google AdWords algorithms which determines the cost per click to add to the Google bottom line at your expense. If none of this makes sense, it should at least be clear that Google is making a fortune and they are only going to make more and more in the future.

This is the hardest thing for some Internet Marketers to understand. Google does not want a scenario where your sales drop 20 percent and the cost per click drops 20 percent as well, even though, if this happens to you, you will have effectively brought down your expenses and surprisingly, your profits will double or maybe even triple.

Never forget and always remember that you decide what you pay Google as well as the quality of traffic that comes from your Google AdWords campaign. Follow the following seven solid pieces of advice and watch what happens to your campaign.

1. Stay out of the top three positions where the lowest quality impulse clicks are most abundantly found

2. Get better traffic by improving your CTR by improving your ad.

3. Being in position 4-8 can be more lucrative by bringing in the more educated and serious buyers and keeping that cost per click down.

4. Don?t be afraid of running the ad on the second page for higher qualified traffic. Remember, the game is to hit the perfect balance between price and position.

5. The higher the CTR you have, the more traffic you?re getting and Google Adwords rewards you for a high CTR by giving you a better position

6. By continually challenging your own ads with simple split test methodology, you can improve the CTR over time. Let two ads run and keep slightly changing the one with a lower CTR in an attempt to beat the leader. This is not rocket science. This can also work with keeping two and trying to beat them with a third ad.

7. Scan your campaign and pull out the lowest converting keywords to improve your overall CTR. Don?t throw them away, just separate them into their own Google Adwords Ad Groups.

Keep the following line in your head till it makes sense without thinking about it...

SALES CAN GO DOWN and still profits can climb higher!

A Little Google Adwords Secret To Double Even Triple Your Lead Generation Conversion
By: Carl Sorensen

If you've been advertising your business opportunity or product online for any length of time you probably already already know that Google Adwords can be a great way to bring traffic to your lead generation campaign.

You'll probably agree that getting the traffic to your landing or lead capture page is the easy part...

Actually getting that traffic to convert into real-time hot leads for your opportunity or product is the hard part. This frustrates many Adwords advertisers to the point where they have to drop the campaign entirely because it simply wasn't profitable... or was it because they were going about it the wrong way? Don't let this happen to you!

One of the main reasons for Adwords failure in a lead generation campaign is total lack of keyword organization and proper targeting of the landing pages. That's right... I said PAGES.

Most beginner Adwords advertisers will go out and bid on 50,60 maybe even 100 keywords they will write ONE Google ad and then direct all of their adwords traffic to their one little landing page.

So you've got several different keywords and phrases, one Google ad and one landing or lead capture page. It's the sure-fire recipe to an adwords disaster.

Problem #1. You have too many keywords!

You cannot possibly write ONE ad that will effectively target ALL the available keywords you are bidding on. You need to group the keywords tighly and write your ad according to the keyword you are bidding on. If you don't organize your campaign this way the result will be an extremely low CTR (Click Through Rate).

Generating HIGH CTR is absolute necessity for a successful lead generation campaign if you want to increase your keyword positioning for LESS money. The average adwords user will never see a consistent CTR over 1 - 4% because they have poor campaign organization.

Problem #2. You have too many keywords, Not Enough Landing Pages!

You see... Once you get your keywords organized and compiled into their own individual ad groups you are now going to need several more and different landing pages.

Why you ask...? It's simple... Since we have now created new adwords ads to target our very specific keyword groups we are going to need landing pages to match them. If you can target your landing pages to the keywords that you are using in your ad campaign you will be presenting the visitor with much more relevant information. If your Google ad and landing match their keyword query exactly then your chance of conversion is going to much higher. The searcher feels you have what they are looking for.

And yes... In some cases this simple little lead generation conversion trick will easily double, or triple your previous conversion rates! Many adwords users will tell you that this technique is as simple as using the keyword on your landing page a few times... That would ring true if you want to maybe increase your conversion by just a little bit...

Go big or go home! If you truly want to double or triple the conversion rate of the lead generation campaign you need construct a targeted landing page for every keyword phrase or closely related terms.

I mean a new header graphic mentioning the keyword, your headline mentions the keyword and your ad copy and bullet points also include that keyword. You basically have created a lead capture page all around the specific keyword you were advertising under.

It's called "Exact Matching" when you go to a search engine you aren't looking for something "close" to what you searched for. You're looking for EXACTLY what you searched for. Does this make any sense?

This really is a simple way that you can double, or even triple your current adwords lead generation campaign conversion rates. Now what are you going to do with this information?

4 Steps to a Successful AdWords Campaign
By: Michael McLaughlin

Not getting the satisfaction you want from your AdWords account? Want to make more money by spending less?

Google AdWords has made many businesses successful by providing them with a great deal of highly targeted traffic for as little as 5 cents! Yet many webmasters and advertisers are incompetent when it comes to using AdWords efficiently. After $100 in losses and having many failed campaigns, I have learned how to solve many of these setbacks, so I have put together a list of the 4 steps required to come out on top.

1. Design

Decide how the layout of your ad will present itself. Next consider what you want to be included in the title and what facts or catch phrases you want your visitor to know before they decide to spend your money by clicking on your advertisement. Don?t be a fool and get your ad disabled, please be sure to follow all of Google's rules and regulations on there editorial guidelines page.

Many computer owners are just learning how to purchase using the miracle of the internet and even more people do not understand that when they click on those Google ad?s they are spending someone?s money just by clicking on it. They also don?t understand that most of the pages that they are going to be clicking on are product pages trying to sell them something. Many aren?t even interested in spending any money no matter how convincing your sales pitch can be. Though, this depends on what they are searching for. To avoid this simply yet destructive problem merely put the price of your product directly into your ad.

2. Brainstorm

This is where my downfall began, I selected few keywords and in turn received little traffic, and the traffic I did receive was very expensive! To avoid this start off by taking the position of your possible customer. If you were searching for the product that you sell, what would you, as a customer search for? Do that now and make a list of as many search phrases and keywords you can think of. Don?t be afraid to use Google?s keyword tool, though I found that this isn?t too helpful.

After you squeezed out as many words you can, glance over them and determine what words and phrases can be combined to form a new one. Simply come up with as many words as possible, once you get started its easy and you should come out with around 250 keywords. Review this list and delete some of the keywords that are ?out there? and wouldn?t produce targeted traffic.

3. Optimize

Never waste your money using Google?s suggested cost per click; it is 10 times higher than necessary. Many advertisers do not understand that there click through rate effects there position to the same degree with how much they pay per click. To make this easier to understand here is an example: if you pay 5 cents per click for the phrase ?shopping cart? and your competition pays 10 cents and has a click through rate of .5%, to surpass this person in position you need to double your click through rate to anything above 1% yet you are still paying half of what he is! For keywords that are less targeted to your product or purpose yet still effective I suggest pricing them to nearly half that of highly targeted keywords for a rule of thumb.

Now that all your keywords and pricing is in place, set your daily budget lower than you plan on spending per day for now, this way incase it?s a failure you don?t lose that much. Let your campaign run for a few days, but before you do make sure you set up conversion tracking. Watch what keywords perform well and convert to conversions, and delete the ones that cost you nothing but money. If at first you don?t succeed try try again.

4. Experiment

As you watch the performance of your keywords and Ad groups you should continue to try new things. Change one word in your ad and compare the results to previous, trust me one word can and will make the difference; whether positive or negative that is for you to discover! If you are having trouble finding an ad that gets enough clicks to avoid being disabled brainstorm again and create as many ads as possible, even if they are terrible they will give you new ideas. Pick your favorite three and create a new ad group while comparing the results to your other ad groups.

If you do not find success after following all of these steps, what you?re doing isn?t wrong it?s what you?re trying to sell. To determine if your product is assured to fail ask your self this question: is this product helping someone or is it just another great idea? Chances are if it?s a great idea people aren?t searching for it, or in desperate need of it.

Continue to track and modify your keywords and Ad groups while watching your sales and popularity excel!

All About AdWords and AdSense
By: Jason Tarasi

Everyone is scrambling for news about the new kids on the net ? AdWords and AdSense that is. You?ve got to hand it to Google. They?ve really outdone themselves this time.

AdWords is Google?s pay-per-click advertising program. AdWords is similar to other pay-per-click advertising programs, but the other side of the coin, AdSense, makes it an incredibly powerful advertising program. I?ll get to that in a moment, for now let?s take a look at AdWords and how it works.

With AdWords, you can create your very own advertisements or you can have Google?s team design the advertising campaign for you. When you create AdWords advertisements, they appear on the internet right away. You have complete control of your budget as you only pay when your ad is clicked on and you can set your very own daily limits for what you are willing to pay. There is no minimum budget or locked in time that you have to run your campaign. You choose the keywords you want to target, so you get targeted traffic from your ads ? people who are looking for specifically what you have to offer.

You can rely on Google for quick, friendly and knowledgeable support when you need it. Additionally, you can access performance reports that keep you informed on how well your advertising is doing so you can make changes as needed.

I know all that sounds pretty similar to other pay-per-click programs, but now let?s take a look at the other side.

AdSense?

AdSense adds a powerful punch to the AdWords program as well as giving website operators the ability to make money from their websites by displaying Google Ads (those from the AdWords program). So, as an AdWords advertiser, you?ve got an advantage in that website operators are providing high quality content to browsers and because of the keywords, your ads appear on their websites in clear view of individuals who are looking for your products or services.

As a website operator, you can choose keywords for the AdSense program that are relevant to the content you provide. The keywords will draw in relative advertisements to be displayed on your website, things that your browsers are interested in, which adds value to the information provided to your visitors. When your website visitors click on a Google Ad, you gain revenue from that click. Providing high quality, relative content is key to making money with AdSense.

AdWords and AdSense are win-win propositions for advertisers and website operators. Advertisers get targeted traffic to their websites at minimal costs and website operators make money for having the ads displayed on their websites. AdWords and AdSense are welcomed additions to the world of e-business and internet marketing.

Google AdWords and AdSense A Dynamic Small Business Marketing Duo
By: John Jantsch

Unless you have been living under a rock for the last year or so, you probably know that Google has become the king of the search engine hill. There are many reasons for this but number one in my opinion is that above all else they put value on content. Today I want to introduce you to two very powerful small business advertising options created by Google.

These two ingenious programs have all but revolutionized the way advertising is done on the web. Warning: If you are thinking..."web advertising isn't for me, I just need a few more clients around the block"...you better read this or be prepared to have your competitors eat your lunch.

Goolge AdSense - Again content is king at Google. This program allows web site "publishers" to add some code from Google and receive "content relevant" ads on their site from other site owners. Here is an example - those ads in the box on the right of the page are delivered by Google and are matched to the content on the page. When someone surfs to the page and decides to check out one of those ads, the web site owner earns a portion of the advertising revenue that Google collects.

The key here is that if you go to a site about quilting, you will see ads about quilting and not about dog grooming. I know this sounds so obvious but Google was the first to really figure this out.

This program has worked so well that some website owners are actually building content specific sites and paying for them solely through AdSense revenue. Small business owners should consider adding this feature to pages on their site for several reasons.

I've already mentioned the fact that there is money to be made, but what many site owners are finding is that because Google is so respected and because the ads are highly targeted...they are no longer looked at by surfers as ads, they are looked at as content.

Some will even go as far as to say that by putting the Google ads on your site you actually better your chances of higher rankings with Google. Google flatly denies this claim and I don't think it is true but I do know that Google AdSense ads should be on every small business owner's site. (Google AdSense)

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Another Warning: This is somewhat complex stuff. This article is only meant to introduce you to the power of these programs. Check out Google Cash by Chris Carpenter for a deeper understanding of ways to make this work for you.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Google AdWords - I've already talked about those ads you see on websites, well those ads need to come from somewhere don't they. AdWords is Google's program for advertisers.

Any site that wishes to participate bids for "keywords" that are relevant to their product, service, or site and then creates ads to attract hits. These ads show up on private websites, like this example, and on the right side of Google search results like this search for "Free sales letters and tools" As you can see from this Google search you received the content related sites that you searched for but you also get some related ads that are sponsored.

Now here is where Google is genius. Instead of simply subjecting surfers to any ads that anyone is willing to pay for, they actually police the ads that are running. On some pay per click programs, whoever is willing to pay to most wins. Google uses a performance model. In other words an ad that is the most relevant and therefore receives the most clicks will move ahead of an ad that may pay more but isn't as effective. This simple philosophy is why Google has quickly dominated the PPC world.

Okay...and now the really big innovation

Regional targeting. Google recently introduced a system that allows advertisers to target certain metropolitan markets only. In other words, a remodeling contractor who only wants to do kitchen remodels in say, Denver, can bid on the keyword phrase "kitchen remodel" and only have his ads show up for people who live in and around Denver.

The implication this has for local small business owners is staggering. In the example above, our Remodeler can now tap into highly targeted web traffic for pennies per lead. In my opinion, small business owner who learn the ins and outs of this medium will dominate their markets. (Google AdWords)

Look for more on this topic in the future.
